Article Writing Tips

Writing and distributing articles has become a regular task of every webmaster who wishes to promote their web sites and products but how do you make sure that the articles you have written will be a success? You must comprehend that the time and effort you put into writing your articles is worthwhile, and to ensure this you should spend time in the beginning carefully planning and structuring the title and content of your article. To do this you need to separate the processes of your article submission into: Research, Article Content, Article Submission and and to do some little more work to promote your article.

Researching Your Article

Initially you should meticulously research the main idea of your article, and make sure that your copy in your article is correct, factual and contains valid citations when needed. You need to provide content of the highest quality to ensure your readers are kept interested. Your title should your main keywords as much as possible that relate to your subject but never sacrifice readability for keywords. If you are having a hard time thinking of an excellent title, you can look at other articles that have gained many readings and examine their titles and look for some clues as to what might have made them successful.

Article Copy

Start with your article title. Focus on providing a clear and concise title, because it is the most important part of the article where people would likely read first. Coming up with a poorly written title is a sure fire way for your article to be trashed out. Moving into the body of your article, your content should be well-written, in good English and with correct punctuation and grammar. Don't repeat sentences in your articles body just to fill space. Make sure that every sentence is clear and understandable.

Another essential thing that can make your articles a success is to ensure your article is well structured. Start with a leading summary that explains what the article is about and why you have written it. You might want to also explain how readers would use the information, if it is particularly technical. As you flow through the document, write in a logical order so that readers don't get confused. Finalize your article with a concise summary.

Submitting Your Article

After you are through with the article you then need to distribute it to readers. This is actually done via article directories. These are normally heavily moderated and they wont accept poor content. To ensure your article is a success you need to make sure that your article is accepted the first time your article is moderated, so you don't have to re-do the submission. Most article directories have guidelines somewhere on the site. Read these carefully and follow them as closely as possible when you submit your article.

Post Distribution

When you have distributed it, the article can now be read by many people. A mistake that so many authors make is that from that point on they expect the article to be instantly found and read a thousand times. It just doesn't work like that - if you want to see your articles read by thousands you need to do a little post submission work. You should start by submitting your article's URL to some social bookmarking sites, and if it is of excellent quality more people will share your article to their friends. Forum posting and mentioning your article is a good way to promote it.
